Spot 1: Lüderitz – The Record-Breaking Machine


Lüderitz is home to the most famous speed channel on the planet. This man-made trench is precision-engineered to provide butter-flat water even when the desert winds are nuking at 40+ knots.


  • The Pro Channel: If you have your sights set on official world or national records, you can gain access to the main channel (subject to an event fee) to ride the same water as the legends.
  • The Training Zone: Right in front of the competition area, we have access to incredible conditions free of charge. It’s the perfect place to practice your tuck, refine your gear setup, and find your groove without the pressure of the clock.

Spot 2: Walvis Bay – Nature’s Speed Strip


Next, we head to the iconic Walvis Bay lagoon. Unlike the carved channel of Lüderitz, this is a natural wonder—a long, shallow sandbar that creates a miles-long "speed strip" with perfectly flat water on the leeward side.


  • Join the Legend: This year is special. We’ll be sharing the water with the SP80 team. Their futuristic kite-powered sailboat is designed to shatter the 80-knot barrier, and you’ll have a front-row seat (and the same wind!) to watch history in the making.
